Slice Elements

Summary

Creating a gap in a section of a conduit run, cable tray run, or any run of system elements takes multiple actions. The Slice Elements feature shortens this project to just a few clicks in one convenient tool.

Usage

Slicing a single run

1. From the eVolve ribbon, in the Quick Tools panel, click Slice Elements while pressing and holding the Shift key on the keyboard.
2. From the drawing area, hover over the desired run, and then:
   1. Click a point along a straight or select a fitting to start the slice function.
   2. Click a point along a straight or select a fitting to end the slice function.
3. The run is sliced, and the command stays active you can continue slicing if necessary. Press the ESC key to end the command.

Slicing multiple runs

1. From the eVolve ribbon, in the Quick Tools panel, click Slice Elements.
2. From the drawing area, select the desired runs, and then:
   1. Click a point along a straight or select a fitting in the selection to start the slice function.
   2. Click a point along a straight or select a fitting in the selection to end the slice function.
3. The runs are sliced, and the command stays active you can continue slicing if necessary. Press the ESC key to end the command.

Tips and Tricks

• Slice elements works great in conjunction with Smart Bend Multi-Trim, chain these features together to quickly add an offset or kick 90.
