Intro to Cable Tray

Similar to conduit, EVOLVE provides a series of 'pre-configured' cable tray system families based on common types and evolve fittings. While the modeling of cable tray with EVOLVE is the same as native Revit, EVOLVE will generate cable tray descriptions based on a concatenation of the tray size and type description, this description is written to the eVolve_Description shared parameter.

Families

EVOLVE cable tray fittings, such as elbows, tees, unions, etc are similar to native Revit cable tray fittings with a few enhancements. Within each cable tray fitting family, there are some instance and type parameter options to provide users with additional controls or functions for that specific fitting.

Clearance

EVOLVE provides a clearance feature will provides in-place extrusions around selected cable tray in order to represent a "clearance zone". These clearances can be placed on the top, bottom, and/or sides of the cable tray based on a user the defined configuration.

The Cable Tray clearance extrusion is created as an in-place conduit fitting family, users can also set the object style and material type of the extrusion to give additional visibility controls.
